HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY 2022
Like every year, Montfort Sr. Secondary School Roorkee celebrated Independence Day with great pomp and splendour. The Principal, Rev. Brother Albert Abraham, esteemed guests for the day Brother Albert Abraham's family, Rev. Brother James Ekka, Rev. Brother Gabriel lakda, vice principal Brother Prashant kullu, Headmistress sis. Santhana Mary ; Co-ordinator sir Deepu Thomas, co-ordinator for middle section Madam Lizi Philip, kg Co-ordinator Sis Amali, Teachers and students were present to celebrate the day with unprecedented patriotic fervour.
The event started by unfurling the national flag and hoisting it by the honourable dignitaries. After that the school cabinet members with the class monitors paraded through the audience to mark the moment of pride and saluting the national flag. The school choir did a phenomenal job by singing famous patriotic songs. The dance group also presented mesmerising performance to acknowledge and profess the advancement of girls in various fields today. This dance's concept of Bharat ki beti - humari shaan was well depicted. Other students read out poems and shared their views through their speeches.
Rev Brother Albert Abraham wished the audience to celebrate the 15th Independence Day enthusiastically. He mentioned that one must not feel patriotism for a day. Instead, the feeling should continue within us and help us to become the most worthy citizen of this nation. We should Contribute in every way to make our country proud.
Our guest for the day, Rev. Brother Albert Abraham's father sang a beautiful song 'Aawaz mein na dunga', a very heart touching song from the movie Dosti . It was such a beautiful rendition from him which the audience, enjoyed thoroughly .
At the end, all the teachers and students dispersed with a pledge to serve our motherland, India with heart, body and soul to bring it glory and laurels with our dignified deeds. The sweets were distributed to all.
