Report on the Webinar: On the footsteps of GAIA- Nurturing Nature
Montfort School, Roorkee, organised its first live Webinar on September 14,2021, as part of the Montfortian action plan for total sustainability (MATS) ,on the topic- On the footsteps of GAIA : Nurturing Nature.
This webinar was organised for the staff of all schools run by the Society of Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel and the schools that come under the HUBS of learning, Roorkee. This webinar has been inspired by the concepts of integral ecology and ecological conversion.
The flag bearer of MATS, Montfort School,Roorkee- Rev. Bro. Albert Abraham, the Principal of Montfort School, Roorkee,is committed and feels responsible to undertake and pursue the drive that has been introduced by the congregation, Montfort Brothers of St.Gabriel. His conscious efforts to channelize the intent of this webinar, to bring committed people together for a cause is appreciable.
Montfort School, Roorkee, expresses its heartful gratitude to Rev. Bro. John Kallarackal- Superior General, Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel; Rev. Bro. Pratap Reddy- the Asst. General and in charge for the province of Delhi; Rev. Bro. James T.K- the Asst. General and in charge of the Peace and Justice Commission, and all the distinguished Councillors , for their endeavours in conceiving the Montfortian action plan for total sustainability.
Rev. Bro. James Ekka- the Provincial Superior, province of Delhi and the National Chairman of India, graced the live event on September 14. Various provincials from different provinces in India, Superiors, Principals from Montfort School across India and from other schools under the HUB of learning, Roorkee, Brothers and formators, members of the staff from all schools in India managed by Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel and the staff fraternity from the HUB of Roorkee, were a part of this initiative taken up by the host school- Montfort, Roorkee.
Brother Albert Abraham- the principal of Montfort School, Roorkee welcomed the assemblage in his opening address. Bro James Ekka- the provincial superior, province of Delhi, in his speech rendered few valuable suggestions and helpful comments.

Padma, is a retired professor, English, from Stella Maris College, Chennai.She's an eminent and well established personality in the field of Indian theatre today, and is actively engaged as an actor, director and playwright in Tamil theatre, for over 3 decades now. She's an avid reader and has also written a book titled Acting up: On gender and theatre in India, 1979 onwards, which was published by Left Word, New Delhi. A genuine environment enthusiast and a woman of substance, she advocates courageously for women's empowerment and gender equality .
Dr.Padma was instrumental in rousing the conscience of the audience in the gripping hour and a half long session. The expatiate on the topic was followed by an interactive question-answer session, much to the satisfaction of the participants.
The webinar started at 3.30 pm and concluded at 5.30 pm. It concluded by a Vote of thanks and with a resolution of carrying forward this mission purposefully.
