Instructions to the Parents

Instructions to the Parents

  • Parents are not allowed to see their children or interview the teachers during school hours except with the prior permission of the Principal. Parents are free to meet any teacher after taking an appointment through the handbook or on every first Saturday of the month which is a PTM day, during the school hours.
  • Parents and guardians may not visit their wards or their teachers in the classrooms.
Phone calls for teachers / students during school hours will not be entertained.
  • Parents are requested to keep in touch with the school authorities regarding the progress of their children. They are particularly requested to call for and check their Progress Report, which is issued after every cycle of tests at the end of the semester.
  • Letters are not to be sent to the students at the school address.
  • The school reserves to itself the right to dismiss students whose diligence or progress in studies is steadily unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students or whose guardians show little interest in the progress of their wards. Immorality, grave insubordination, contempt of authority or willful damage to property is always a sufficient reason for immediate dismissal.
  • Since students come from varying backgrounds, it is not surprising that some students may have the tendency of stealing other student’s articles eg. Pen, geometry box etc. Parents are requested to keep a watch over their child to see that he / she does not bring home stolen property. At the same time parents are requested to provide their child with sufficient number of things that he / she requires in school so that they need not resort to stealing.

Message for Parents

The school can do a lot for your child but it cannot do everything. A home is the place where a child gets his/her first education and training in citizenship. It is the place where his/her character is formed and nurtured. Indeed, education in school promotes the growth of personality and helps the child to discover and develop his/her talents and abilities. But in order to secure the best of education for your child, maximum cooperation between parents and the school is vital. The task of helping our children to become good citizens is best done through partnership between the school and parents.

We earnestly request parents to check their child’s handbook on a daily basis and see to it that homework assigned for the next day is completed. Parents can exchange notes with the subject teachers through the pages of the diary about the quality and quantity of work attempted by their children. However, entries should pertain only to the child’s academic performance or conduct. The principal / Headmistress conveys the same in a separate letter. Criticism of a teacher should be avoided in the presence of the child because it undermines his / her respect for teachers and the school. Giving gifts to the staff or any other demonstrations of gratitude or goodwill in their honour, must be avoided. Let our commitment to the future of our children help us to establish a fruitful collaboration between the family and the school.
